The 4 000ha Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve is the only privately-owned reserve within the immediate vicinity of the Victoria Falls (just 12km away).
Established in 1996, it is a conservation success story, founded on a vision to sustain and support the area’s rich natural heritage.
Fences were set up in 2000 and the reserve became a designated rhino Intensive Protection Zone (IPZ) with a monitoring and breeding programme, as well as Anti-Poaching Unit & Ranger Training Facility.
The impact of these initiatives is evident in the reserve’s flourishing population of this critically endangered species. Along with once-in-a-lifetime black rhino encounters, visitors to this African Eden also have a chance of viewing other members of the Big Five, more iconic game – including rare sable antelope – and an abundance of thriving bird species.
Their diverse habitats (across grasslands, teak forests, and along the Masuwe and Nakavango rivers) are the perfect environments to enjoy scenic safaris – including exclusive black rhino safaris, the only walking safaris in Victoria Falls, and horseback safaris led by expert guides.
